Patterned Paper Addict

Welcome to the Use Your Stash Blog Hop!

Hello Hoppers!  With the start of the New Year the challenge in January is to use only patterned paper in our creation. When I first started paper crafting I was NOT crafting.  I had this lovely Basic Grey paper pack and I was terrified about cutting it.  My point, well I have no point just a silly story about my crafting.  I obviously cut it eventually. :^)

You have arrived here from Nicole's blog or if you just found this post hop along and you'll see what everyone made for this challenge. A complete list of all the hoppers is at the bottom of this post.

I used retired items from Close to My Heart, BUT I used the new Springtime Wishes Thin Cuts dies and the matching stamp set.

Thank You for viewing our hop if your interested in using up some of your CTMH stash send me an email me.  I'd love it if you'd leave a comment then
hop to Wendy's blog to see her patterned paper creation.

Technique Blog Hop - Bokeh Stamping

Welcome to the Independent Consultant Technique Blog Hop!  You've arrived here from Cat's blog, but if you just found me follow the links and you'll see some fabulously fun artwork.
Our featured technique this month is Bokeh Stamping. The artwork created by participating consultants will give you an idea of what you can and will create by using this technique in your art creations.   This technique is fabulous for card makers, Picture My Life, scrapbooking, & mixed media.

I've never used this technique in my artwork, so this is my first attempt.   There are a lot of YouTube video tutorials available for this technique and I found two videos that have different ways of achieving this technique.   The first one I viewed used water brushes, watercolor paper, re-inker, and required a days dry time or a heating gun.   The second one used daubers, ink pads, and white cardstock.  While both achieved similar results I used water brushes and re-inkers on the Bokeh background for this card.

I used these Close to My Heart items to create my Thank You card.

  1. Value pack white card base
  2. Exclusive Inks:  Cotton Candy, Pixie, Pomegranate, & White Daisy.
  3. Watercolor paper
  4. Springtime Wishes Stamp set & Thin Cuts
  5. Cardstock: Fern, Sweet Leaf, & White Daisy
  6. Embellishments: Grey Enamel Gems
  7. Other: sewing notion silver thread.
