Colors of Thanksgiving

Welcome to the Colors of Thanksgiving
Use Your Stash Blog Hop!

Hello hoppers!  This month I'm starting the hop a complete list of the participants are listed at the bottom of this post, but if you arrived here from Michelle's blog it all works.  :)    The challenge this month is to use the colors of Fall.  Rich oranges, greens, purples, reds, and yellows.

I really like how this turned out. I used up some pieces that I had left from one of my CTMH papers, Sangria, and I used CTMH cardstock fun colors in this pack it yells Fall!

I usually take my pictures outside, but I didn't find my mojo until the evening, so I'll try to get a daylight one sometime today.

I dressed up the sentiment with a bow.  I try to finish the insides of my cards it doesn't always happen,

I love this die its a must have in my book.  I like dies and I have a fair amount of them.   I'll let you in on a secret, so shhhhhh Close to My Heart is going to be introducing at least one set of dies that coordinate with a stamp set or maybe more then one look for this on January 1st.  No worries we'll still be offering the fabulous Cricut Cartridges.

Thank You for viewing our hop if your interested in joining in on the fun by using up some of your stash email me.  I'd love for you to leave a comment then hop to  Marie's blog to see her art that she created with her stash.

Get Back to the Fundamentals

Welcome to the Technique Blog Hop
Brought to you by
Close to My Heart Independent Consultants

You've arrived here from Darlys' blog.  The hop is a circle, so be assured you'll see all the artwork if you keep on hopping.  This month the focus is on the Fundamental line by Close to My Heart.

For this hop I decided to create two cards with a Christmas theme....I have Christmas on the brain lately.  I know that many others have Christmas predominately in their thoughts too.  I just want to make Christmas cards, albums, and layouts.   I've been buying some super cute papers, and other things to add to my Christmas stash.
View of the snowflake inside the card
I created a black base used a piece of the Ruby Fundamental paper in the Enchanted line that looks like a string of lights to me.  The joy is a Cricut cut from the Artistry cartridge.
View of the holly Cricut cut inside the card.

I used the Artistry cartridge to cut out these images, with the exception of Christmas that is from another source.

Items used are by Close to My Heart others will be noted:
  • Cardstock:  Black, Kraft, Sweet Leaf,  White Daisy
  • Artistry Cricut cartridge CTMH exclusive
  • Paper Fundamentals:  Enchanted
  • Fundamentals Assortment in Gold
  • Gold Shimmer Trim
  • Ribbon, Thread, and Christmas die cut sourced from other.

I participated in a hop on the 6th of the month which featured the Fundamental line.  The Fundamentals feature stickers, assortments, and of course paper.  You may view the line here.  And if you'd like to see the layout I created featuring this fun line go here

Thank You for taking the time to view the hop.  On the 15th of each month a new technique is featured, so mark your calendar.  It's time to hop on to Catherine's blog to see her art.

Simply Fundamental Scrapbooking

Welcome to the Spotlight Blog Hop!

This month we're focusing on our Simply Fundamental line of paper and embellishments.

If you arrived here from Lela's blog you're on the right path.  If you wish to start at the beginning hop over to Melinda's blog for the complete list of participating independent consultants, or you can keep hopping and you will see all of the wonderful artwork.

Here's the beginning of my work with the Simply Fundamental line of paper & embellishments.  I'm using the Peacock & Poppy Fundamental paper in the Enchantment color group.

Rest of my Artwork Arriving Soon.  I needed to take care of my Mother, so I've been short on time.  Hopefully it won't be but a minute or so.  :)

This is not the best job I've done at creating a layout.  I have some bumps, and lifting elements, but I'll manage to get it all fixed by the time I lay down my pictures.

I need to run to the pharmacy, so it will be a bit longer for the next page in my saga of using the Simply Fundamental paper line.  Thank You all.

This is getting close, but I still want to dress it up!

Okay I'm done and I took an overview shot on the table to give an idea of how I used the Fundamental Elements to create the title and journaling, which is sparse I know.

The Left side of the Layout completed.

The right side of the layout completed

My completed layout!  Yeah!  I only used products from our fundamental line.  I did not stamp or distress with any inks.  This shows how versatile and easy it is to build a layout that is fun and colorful.  That's only if you do need to run to the pharmacy!  I don't mind at all.  My Mom cared for me my entire life and Ill never not be there for her.

Products used:

  • Paper Fundamental:            Enchantment Z3126
  • Fundamental Stickers:        Enchantment Z3164
  • Fundamental Assortment:  Gold Z3105, Pomegranate Z3099 & Peacock Z3098

It's an Owl Birthday!

An Owl Birthday Card!

My Aunt Karen is having fun with owls lately.  My cousin Skipper built a new deck on the back of my Aunts house, since the old deck needed to be replaced.  Well she's been decorating the sitting area with owls, a lot of owls, if you can find an owl decoration in Citrus Heights she has it!  :^)

I put this card together for her Birthday.  I use a new floral stamp set that I got in one of my convention bundles.  I've been moving things around in my craft room, so It took a moment to find the info on the set.  I used So Many Smiles (C1619) to create the owl.  Enough chat here are the pictures.  I hope you like my creation.

I used cardstock except for the chevron patterned banner and that scrap came from the Sangria paper pack new for Fall. I think this came out great.  I've seen these owls on Pinterest and I do not know who had the idea originally or I'd give her credit and a link to her work.  If you know who it is please email me.

Thank You for viewing my blog and my creations.  I wish you a happy day and wonderful week.

Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

You've arrived here from Alyson's blog, so you're on the right path. If you get lost or wish to start at the beginning of the hop visit  Melinda's blog for the completely list of consultants participating this month.  Or you can keep on hopping and you will see all the artwork, since the hop is one big circle. Now it's time to see my page!

But First I need to give you a heads up on the stamp set we're using.  The stamp is a New Years set aptly named Cheers.  Here's an image of the set, and it can be yours for just $5 with a qualifying purchase of $50 a savings of $12.95.

I struggled with this set.  I can see a use for the journal lines in pocket scrapbooking, scrapbooking, in your planners, or mixed media journals.  I love the Dream Big and Cheers sentiments, but I've struggled with this concept of New Years, which I believe stems from my families lack of celebrating New Years.   Plus I don't see what the thrill is honestly its just a date change that takes all of us months to remember to write 2016 instead of 2015.

I thought I'd try to make a pop-up box card.  I've never tried to make one before and I went with a 21st Birthday theme.  I saw stamps in the set that worked for a Birthday. I used our Fall color inspired paper pack.

Here's the box open.  The pictures are still slightly dark, and I did watch the Walking Dead last night yet no info on Glen.  Okay I digress...Its still raining and dark in the house.  I usually take pictures outside in the garden.  I hope you see the details better and the way I went with the set.
The list of the products I used are below.

  • Cardstock:  Poppy
  • B&T Paper:  Sangria Paper Pack
  • Exclusive Inks:  Cocoa, Poppy, & Saffron.
  • Embellishments:  Fundamental Assortment Gold, & Sangria Compliments
  • Adhesive:  Thin 3-D Foam Tape & Other
  • Stamp sets:  Cheers (S1511) & For Family Occasions (C1633)

I appreciate your time viewing my creation for this hop.  Now it's time to move on to Maureen's blog to see her artwork.  Thank You for viewing the Hop, and make sure to check out our Spotlight hop on November 6th.
