Sandy Update for W. PA

The storm is not as bad here as it is in other parts of the country.  I'm lucky I live in W. PA's mountain range.  We're having a lot of rain, backed-up sewers that flood the streets downtown, and tree branches flying around.  I live on top of a hill, so we don't have to worry about the flooding, but we have a ton of trees, so the concern is they may fall down on homes and cars.  My community is very lucky we haven't had anything to terrible happen.

The concern is that our rivers will start flooding.  We won't have any problems with the Allegheny the problems will arise in the Pittsburgh area as the rivers converge into the Ohio.  Locally we will have issues with French Creek, but we must wait and see how bad that gets.

Our power is working, but our net goes in and out.  I hope to get some items created to day, so I can post them tomorrow. My heart goes out to those in the communties hardest hit by Sandy, but I know the people of the US and our Gov't under President Obama will rise to the task of rebuilding NJ, Virginia, and NY he will not ignore these communities as Bush did with the victims of Katrina.

THE ARTISTE IN 3D BLOG HOP

Artiste in 3-D

Welcome to our The Artiste in 3D Blog Hop!  There are so many fun features  in our Artiste Cricut cartridge that we decided to showcase many of the 3D Objects

In this hop, you will see a variety of projects featuring the 3D Object key of the Artiste but don’t worry, you won’t need special glasses to see them!  (But we do hope our projects will “stand out” to you.)

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Lucy's blog – Love 2 Create   If you came from Theodora of Celebrate Crafts then you are in the right place!

I like two-tone items and this little container is perfect for it.  I cut out two boxes in Smoothie and White Daisy to create the look.  I did add in a cut from the Art Philosophy Cartridge which shows how well they work together.  Filled with Chocolate it's the perfect gift for a friend in need of a pick me up.

ATC "In the Pink"

I decided to call this artist trading card 'In the Pink'.  It is the only one that I made in this color combination.  Pink is probably my favorite color well it's tied with Purple.  I had fun playing with the shades of Pink in this. I did do one with a grey pup for a swap.  I told my self I would not do that much fussy cutting again!   All my supplies are from Close to My Heart.

This stamp set reminds me of our pup Sadie.

A little Artiste

I was playing around with the Artiste Cartridge and was thinking about making a pumpkin out of one of the bag/purse cuts, but I decide that I wanted to keep the bag. I'm lousy at bows, but I recently read  about the new bow maker by Unity in Papercrafts, so I placed my order, 3 days later I rec'd it and OMG it's now my favorite tool!  Now absolutely EVERYTHING is getting a bow.

I decided my bow on the favor box, next post down, needed to be bigger and I think it looks better now.

Fall Fun with Art Philosophy

Welcome to our Autumn Art Philosophy Blog Hop!

Each month we are showcasing our amazing Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge which can be purchased exclusively through a Close to My Heart Independent Consultant.

It's the time of year where leaves are changing colors, temperatures are dropping, the days are shorter, and the holidays are quickly approaching. This month we will be featuring projects with an Autumn theme made using the
Art  Philosophy Cricut cartridge!

If you just happened to come upon this blog, you should start at the beginning by going to  Lucy's blog - Love 2 Create  If you came here from Amanda's Scraps of Love  then you're in the right place!

My projects are a favor box for Fall themed parties and an adorable card.

As a Fall baby I respond to the rich hues in our Flirty paper pack, which reminds me of the color of the leaves here in Pennsylvania.

This favor box is created with the Art Philosophy Cartridge and has some of my favorite colors the only thing missing is your favorite candy or loose tea to keep you warm on those chilly evenings. Grab a warm cup of yum and sit back and enjoy the wonderful artwork you'll see along the way, and I hope I've inspired you to create a little something for those special people in your life.
