Pinwheels Spinning Wheels

I have the Blood,Sweat, & Tears song stuck in my head 'spinning wheels got to go round'.... Hence the title of my post. This was part of our Choir recital when I was in 7th grade.   That was a long time ago.

Pinwheel Mania!

Welcome to the Close to My Heart Consultant Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!
Wow that's a whole lot of words, but to simplify matters we use acronyms.
This month our featured stamp set is simply and aptly named Pinwheel.

This set works with our Cricut Artiste Collection, so it's doubly nice, but you do not need Cricut to have fun with this set. This set is yours for $5 with a $50 purchase and this month we have a fun and trendy Constant Campaign for National Scrapbooking Month called Dream Pop!  Dream Pop is yours for just $10 with a $35 purchase, so ask you Close to My Heart consultant how to stack your savings or contact me.

When my children were little I used to buy them pinwheels in the Summer when they were available and the wind or our breath would spin the wheel.  It reminds of a time when I did not have a child wanting a three hundred dollar machine, but a simply pinwheel that cost a quarter brought a smile.  If you arrived here from Nancy's blog then you are on the right path, but if you started here no worries  as this hop is a big circle, so keep on hopping and you'll see it all!  But if you'd like to start at the beginning here's the spot and wave when you hop by.

This set really speaks to me as a 4th of July set the height of Summer for me, and the day my youngest daughter made her debut into the world.  I decided to make a card that says come celebrate with us. We lived in Folsom, CA. and every 4th a Rodeo comes to town and they stay for 5 days(or did).  Our house was on a street that perfectly  highlighted the fireworks they shot off every night.  Of course all the kids and most adults would watch them every night.  My little girl thought these displays were for her and that the nightly fireworks celebrated her Birthday.

 Let's Celebrate!

Here's a list of the items I used.  These are available from your CTMH consultant or contact me as I'd be happy to help.

Dream Pop Hop!

Dream Pop
Welcome to the Dream Pop blog hop.  This is dedicated to Close to My Heart's May special in celebration of National Scrap-booking Month.  This paper is available May 1-31 for just $10 with your purchase of $35 or more.  Contact your consultant for more details or visit me online

If you arrived here from Katy's blog then  you are on the right path, but if you started here no worries  as this hop is a big circle, so keep on hopping and you'll see it all!  But if you'd like to start at the beginning here's the spot and wave when you hop by.

B & T patterned papers
 UV patterned papers

When I was a kid a Dream Pop was something you purchased from the ice cream truck that you chased down in your neighborhood and sometimes you even chased the truck on your bike outside of your neighborhood, but that's something you didn't tell your parents!

The delicious flavors of Dream Pop are Banana, Mint, Raspberry, Strawberry, Tangerine, & Grey.  These colors are only in this paper pack and they are BRIGHT, but no worries your Slate, Juniper, Whisper, Cotton Candy, Sunset exclusive inks will work.  We also have extra artwork for you in a workshop format.  Your consultant will have that information available for you.

Today I'm fascinated by tree's all sorts of trees, and I have found some lovely tree dies at a local, well not so local, LSS in Erie called Monkey Business.  The owner is a lovely lady who is ordering more dies for me.  I know I could get them online or through eBay,but I'd like to have that store available to me in the future, so I'm willing to pay a dollar or two more.  I think we all need to stop and shop local, so those neighbors will still be there for us tomorrow.  Plus I always find lovely treasures that the big box stores just don't have and never will.  So join the trend shop local and that includes your fabulous Close to My Heart consultants!

This is my first item that I've made with my Dream Pop papers.  They arrived TODAY(4-26)!  And when I got home from the hospital, no worries, just another test I started thinking about what I wanted to make.  I remember the card that Monkey Business displays next to this die and while this is in no way a copy it is definitely inspired from that card.   I give credit where it is do even if it is not another consultant or CTMH site.

The Ultra Violet paper shows up nicely on this card adding another dimension to an otherwise flat card.  I had no idea why it's  called UV paper, so I asked my fellow consultants and they let me know that it's the way the paper is finished by applying the embossing product it is then dried or cured under Ultra Violet light.....maybe I've been living under a rock, but I had no idea.

My Sunshine

Welcome to the Close to My Heart
April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

The featured stamp set is My Sunshine a set of 8 acrylix stamps that are compatible with our exclusive Cricut Artiste cartridge.  This compatibility makes our My Acrylix stamps an incredible value, not to mention versatile.

If you've found your way here from Love to Create this is the right place!  If you'd like to see the list of all those participating visit Kathleen's Blog.

My Project is a layout using  the My Sunshine stamp set as embellishments.  I used only one piece of Background & Texture/Patterned paper it's from our Chantilly paper.  I  drew upon the colors in the photos to establish my color scheme.

My Artiste cartridge works with the stamp set and the measurements are on the carrier sheet, so it makes it super easy to get the right cuts that match the stamp set. After stamping I used pop dots and strips to raise the elements off the page to make it more interesting.  I used the large photo as a pocket to stash more photos & journal of my Grandsons carefree day on the grounds of Heidelberg Castle in Germany.

Thank You for Viewing our Hop
We have over 50 consultants participating this month.

The next stop on the hop is Nancy's blog and her lovely creations. Be sure to hop along and you'll see all the consultants art & craft ideas. The April Stamp of the Month is available until April 30th.  Contact your CTMH consultant or visit here to see how you can get this stamp set for $5.

Paper Rose

I created this for a blog hop, but an issue arose, so I'm not participating anymore. I made this card to reflect some of the trends I've been seeing in PaperCraft's, with the two sides rounded.  I used colors that remind me of Spring, or at least Spring to me.

I used Floral Happiness to make the rose (Buttercup Ink) and the leaves (Pear, Sweet Leaf, & Topiary)  which are fussy cut, cardstock is Outdoor Denim & Pear cut with AP Cartridge, B&T is Chantilly embossed with an Anna Griffin embossing folder(Provo Craft) inked with Pear to give the embossing a pop, and White Daisy card bases. All the items I used are available here.  Hope you enjoy the card.  Thank You for hopping along!  Remember to turn your clocks ahead an hour on Sunday as we Spring forward into the season of growth.

Welcome to our February Art Philosophy/Artiste Blog Hop!   As you know, these cartridges are available exclusively through a Close to My Heart consultant.  If you don't already have a Consultant that you are currently working with, please contact one the Consultants in our hop with any questions you have!

Our theme this month features not only one of these amazing cartridges but also a brand NEW paper pack from Close to My Heart - "For Always".   In this hop, you will see projects featuring one (or both!) of our versatile Cricut cartridges with this paper pack from many talented crafty ladies!  Enjoy our blog hop!

If you came from Michelle's Blog My Creations with Michelle then you are in the right place!

This appears a little washed out, but it shows the details of the favor bag, so I'm going with it.  I think it has to do with the Daylight bulbs I have in my craft area.

For Always is a great paper pack for those formal and elegant occasions in my opinion.  It's perfect for weddings, bridal showers, & the occasional tea!
Exceptionally easy to make takes 15 minutes from start to finish and that is what your looking for when you need to make dozens of favor items.

This is from the Artiste cartridge and here are the supplies I used:

X7165B For Always Paper Pack
Z1821 Button Assortment, black, slate, whisper
Z1807 Glitter Gems Pink

Faster, Simpler, Easier!

Artiste Instructions
 <3D Object> 5" pg. 41
<3D Object Shift> 5" pg. 41

Your next stop on our "For Always" hop is Wendy's  Blog My Scrapbooking Blog

Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice

by Robert Frost

I've always loved this poem it is based loosely on Dante's Inferno.

I loved the idea of creating an item based on the concept of either Fire or Ice or both!  I hope you find some inspiration in the item I've created.  All of my supplies are from Close to My Heart.

_______________________________________________________________

This hop is based on the famous poem "Fire and Ice" by Robert Frost. Even though the poem is of the humankind's demise, Jearise, our hostess, still loves it. She says every time she hears the title she thinks of blues and reds so she thought why not have a blog hop based on those colors?

Our wonderful crafters have created projects using either shades of red or shades of blue or they have jumped right in and combined the two colors. You'll have to hop along to see which way they went. Don't you just love playing the guessing game while hopping.

Jearise in Lorby's World, who is our hostess, will have blog candy so make sure you start hopping from her blog so you know how to qualify.
