Life is Wonderful

Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop brought to you by-
This month our stamp set is Life is Wonderful (S1507).  It's a nice set that lends itself more towards scrapbooking then cards, but that's just my opinion.

If you have arrived here from Angela's blog your going the right path.  If you get lost or wish to start at the beginning of the hop see Melinda's blog for the complete list.  This month 46 consultants are participating in this hop.

I lost a day this month, so I was super surprised when I realized I needed to get something together for our blog hop.  I'm always on the edge with getting things done due to health, but I try to make sure I have my item done on time. This is a fast and easy layout that I put together using the Reflections pattern book.  I used the Title Topper-Photo's pattern.  The pattern books are a great  fabulous resource and a must in any card maker or scrapbooker's library.  All 6 books and the 2 Make it From Your Heart volumes are available on your consultants website.

I stayed in Korea for a month with my oldest daughter and her husband...a remarkable experience.

The page is still lacking a bit of journaling, but I usually keep that hidden. I'm a goof ball and I like to keep my thoughts and handwriting elsewhere.

I used all Close to My Heart items:  Crystal Blue Cardstock, Wanderful My Reflections Paper Pack, Life is Wonderful stamp set, Wanderful WOTG stamp set, Black Stars, , Exclusive Inks Black, & Gypsy.  If you would like to see more exclusive Close to My Heart products visit your consultants website or mine at www.priscilla.ctmh.com.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our hop.  Please continue on to Jacquelin's blog to see her artwork.

Water {COLOR} Fun

We all have a craft stash.  My stash is paper, STAMPS, embellishments, PAPER, watercolor pencils, colored pencils, makers(Shinhan & Copic) and a whole lot of 3-D decor items waiting patiently.  BUT my issues is new shiny lovelies get released and they push my stash to the background.

This months challenge is to create an item using watercolor pencils, makers, or colored pencils.  I'm not that good when it comes to using any of these items.  I took a Copic class, but I'm still just a novice, not even a beginner.  It requires practice, daily practice to get good at it and I'd rather create a layout or make some 3-d items from the Artiste cartridge.

I'm working on my swaps and the items I'm taking with me to the Close to My Heart Convention at Disneyland for the consultant showcase, not to mention what I'm going to wear.  I'm fussed about the formal wear I don't have any, since my life is totally causal.   Alright enough...

This month Paige is starting us off and I'm finishing no pressure...
We would like to have you join our group and use up some of your stash .  We currently connect with each other via a facebook group come see what we have going on.

If you arrived here from Wendy's blog your on the right path.  I grabbed a new stamp set that I just rec'd on Wednesday.  It's perfect for a novice like me.

This is what I created...like I said I'm a novice when it comes to coloring.  I love to stamp, but actually trying to color an image with depth is not something I'm good at.

This is what I manged to color.

I choose the penciled images to work with rather then the markers.

These are ATC's.  I like making them when I'm not sure what I want to do or feel no inspiration.  I like the cartoon aspect of the images.  The color choice is inspired by my fur-kids a black & gray pup and a tuxedo kitten.

I'm the last one this month, but if you just found us be assured you will see all the creations, since a hop is one big circle.  Now hop off to Paige's blog to see her creation.

Thank You for viewing our hop I hope you enjoyed all the art.

This cute set is perfect for those Summer invites to ice cream socials, birthday parties, and backyard barbecues.   On the scrapbook pages it catches the fun of those events, and those everyday Summer moments of laying outside with a Popsicle or chasing the ice cream truck down the street as that unique music lets you know that a cool treat is in the neighborhood.

This month I created this layout quickly, since I've been in the Seattle metro area for the last 2 weeks. I jumped on the dog image and decided to use this set to feature my pup and my daughters since he is visiting this Spring/Summer....they're a couple of characters, but all fur babies are.

I was originally going to use orange on my Popsicle, but went with Pixie pink, so it's a pinksicle instead of creamsicle.

I added some bakers twine, but I'm not sure that I like it that much, so I'm going to leave the layout with any ribbon, twine or washi.

I like the white space with the mist of Pixie on it, and technically dogs don't eat ice cream, nor is the kit interested in anything, but her food.  I like ice cream, mints and salted caramels.  It's the perfect combo fur babies and ice cream.

I'm not feeling this layout any longer.  I do still want to feature the set and I'll be re-working the page Monday.  I'm glad I did post this since it shows how you can end with something you're not happy with and I'm unhappy with this one.  I did mention somewhere I'm a perfectionist sometime in the past.   It's almost an OCD compulsion to get it just right before I keep it.  I frustrate my family when I do this, but I figure I'm the one who needs to be happy it's my craft and my happy place.

This page will go in my album that chronicles my journey.  These are my fur babies and grand fur baby.  I love animals and I'm a soft when it comes to them, but at times they drive me NUTS!!!
As I'm working on this post I getting a bath from Sounder(grand-fur) gah!  They all freak me out when they want to lick my feet and legs then they lay down on top of them, so I guess they want there bed clean?!?

My animals make me happy everyday, so they are my happy.
